MOD EDIT: Edited until we can confirm legitimacy

Since I saw there that the rumor this is a scam came from here, thought I'd post it here as well:

No, it's not a scam. The keys we send are friend's passes, good for one weekend. We ordered hundreds of GW copies, and the friend's pass will be of no use to anyone after this weekend so we're just giving it away.

Feel free to contact *EDIT* if you have any question, I just thought this would be of interest to the people here.

Edit: Tried to post on the VN boards as well, but unable to do so at the moment :/

If someone would be so kind as to post the following there, that'd be great:

Hello Gaile, thanks for the vote of confidence =b

I do understand your concern, however might I point out that
*EDIT* would be a mighty site to build simply to "scam" a few hotmail accounts and fake billing addresses?

As noted a few times in this post alone, people have actually -paid- to get keys from us in the past, and we've never had any problems (well, the occasional complaint that someone had been waiting for two whole hours and hadn't gotten their key yet (working on instant key, not there yet!) but that's about it).

We ARE a legitimate seller, and the keys we send ARE valid and taken from RETAIL boxes.

We happen to have ordered hundreds of Guild Wars copies as we have been promoting it heavily in our communications (you're welcome Gaile , and since the friends passes will be of no use to anyone after Sunday, we thought we might as well give them out =)

So well yeah, you didn't give it to us, we bought it from you... I hope that's ok??

Oh, and you can just google *EDIT*, we've been featured in a number of newspaper publications recently, not to mention the hundreds of boards.
Since this is VN boards and it probably hasn't changed since my days of DAOC, we'll probably be flamed as having bought the millions-in-print newspaper but hey

So, to the winners, congratulations, we still have a few left to distribute so even if you haven't won yet, you might still! =)

*EDIT*

Default legitimacy confirmation

Hello there, I see that Gaile is actually reading here, any way to give/receive a phone number to indeed confirm this? =)

Thanks!

I read this about the site in question: "Gamersloot is dedicated to offering services that enhance your gaming experience. We provide a central location to purchase or trade cd keys, gametime cards, accounts, gold, and items. We also provide powerleveling services on a variety of servers."
  1. The sale of in-game items (and I would imagine power leveling services) is not supported or condoned by ArenaNet or NCsoft support.
  2. We have a large number of authorized retailers, and to those we can point with confidence. Those who operate outside such relationships cannot be given the same level of recommendation.
  3. It is not our intention to offend any legtimate sales organization or its representatives, but when a Guild Wars fan directly asks, "Is this legitimate" and we have no knowledge that it is, we must be conservative in our response, out of respect for the fan and out of a natural sense of wanting to protect his interests to the best of our ability. We cannot vouch for a retailer that is unknown by us and which has not been verified as a legitimate sales venue. While a large number of independent retailers are perfectly legitimate, we may not know anything about them. Therefore, the only answer we can give is that we do not know them, and that all consumer's should use as their guide, "caveat emptor" or "buyer beware."
I'm sure that everyone can appreciate our position in this matter, and I'm sure that fans appreciate that we care enough to respond to questions of this nature.

Thank you for the time Gaile, I'm sure you are plenty busy with the release coming soon. We will try to get in touch soon see if we can arrange to meet at E3 next month and avoid that sort of confusion in the future =)
